Galliano and the Accordion - a love of 40 years, Castelfdiardo - Italyby Lucia Flaùto, Ufficio stampa Comune di Castelfidardo |
![]() ![]() Of equal significance, the evening recognised the reputation and quality of the accordion, and in this respect, the governor Gianmario Spacca received the award ‘Paolo Soprani’ to the Region for their promotional work. "The accordion is an identity of our country”, said Spacca, receiving the prestigious award sculpture by Franco Campanari, from Mirco Patarini and Vincenzo Canali, “a symbol of the tradition and hard work of which we are proud. We are grateful to Castelfidardo and figures such as Paolo Soprani, who paved the road that led the Marches to be one of the most industrialized regions in Italy". The wonderful ‘City of Castelfidardo’ accordion orchestra dedicated their evening to Gorni Kramer, an innovative composer and accordionist. In the post-war years Kramer took the accordion to unprecedented heights of popularity in television, radio, and musical performances in theatres around the world. The concert featured a musical journey, by Sergio Scapponi, using the works of Gorni Kramer. Richard Galliano, the internationally acclaimed French accordion artiste, delighted the audience with his performance. He was awarded honorary citizenship of Castelfidardo by the City Council. The first foreigner to be awarded this merit, Galliano returned the words of praise and gratitude of the Mayor with a statement of deep affection: "My love affair with Castelfidardo and Victoria is a long as 45 years, ever since my grandmother gave me the first accordion as a young man. I had three discs that made me dream, and what gave me the urge to make music was Gervasio Marcosignori”. Foto Sergio Scapini by NISI |

Additionally the company increased its support for music education by investing in the extension of the Hohner Conservatory. |
New CD ‘Elite’, by Sergey Petrov, St. Petersburg – Russiaby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
![]() The album is the result of eleven years of creative work by Sergey Petrov. It is a chain of images caused by impressions from different displays of human life. Stylistically, the album has a romantic trend with shades of jazz cool, be-bop and bossa nova elements. Soft-core jazz improvisations combine with traditional swing rhythms very harmoniously, and should appeal to jazz and non-jazz audiences alike. The tracks on ‘Elite’ are: ‘Elite’, ‘Il mare caldo’,’ B.C’, ‘Ballade for Two’, ‘Coquette’, ‘Obsession’, ‘Splinter’, ‘Notte di Bovalino’, ‘La Valse a Margaux’ (R.Galliano), ‘Night Bossa’, and ‘Bandy’. All titles were composed and arranged by Sergey Petrov, except ‘La Valse a Margaux’, and all tracks have mp3 files available. |
